Farmer remanded for possessing narcotic drugs
Kumasi, Feb. 28, GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded a farmer into prison custody for allegedly possessing different quantities of cannabis, heroin and cocaine.
Yaw Ntim pleaded not guilty to the crime and would be brought back on March 20.
Police Inspector Kwabena Oduro Boateng told the court presided over by Justice William Boampong that the accused was arrested in a joint police and military operation at Mfante near Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North District.
Ntim was picked up in a wooden structure erected at the illegal mining site and a search conducted uncovered five parcels of dried leaves, weighing 8,850 grammes, 4.9 grammes of whitish substance and another substance with the weight of 40.07 grammes.
