Accra , Feb. 27, GNA - The Forum Network Limited, voice and data added service provider, on Monday launched its audio conferencing service which can allow up to 1,000 people to participate and share in conferences via their mobile phones.

The facility can also allow participants to share slides and presentations through a free screen sharing service.

The service aims at helping institutions in both the public and private sectors to maximise the benefits of interactions conducted via technology with stakeholders.

The idea is to help cut cost and time used by businesses in travelling to meetings.

“Audio conferencing among other things allows people in remote locations to interactively collaborate and work more effectively and efficiently without the need to be face-to-face,” Mr Kwesi Amoafo-Yeboah, Founder said at the launch.

He said with forum Audio conferencing, business colleagues located in remote areas could get together and work on projects and assignments without moving from where they were.

Mr Amoafo-Yeboah said forum audio conferencing could be applied in the areas of business, governance, politics, education and religion.

“In education, our phones have become classrooms for distance learning, remedial classes and other knowledge services. Student leaders located in various parts of the country can now get together as often as they want without moving from their respective locations,” he said, adding that the same can be said of political rallies, churches among other things.

To be able to access the Forum Network, individuals must first get their own audio conferencing number and account, which is free by logging on to Forum's website (www.forum.com.gh) or text forumgh, full name, email address to 1945.

The registered user can then pass on the number and the access code and the meeting time to all participants to call in and be connected at the time of the meeting.

Mr Samuel Menyah Asah-Kissiedu, Product Manager, said apart from the normal call rates, there are no hidden charges for using the service.

He said while Audio Conferencing had been made possible through the collaborative effort of Forum Network and MTN Ghana, a communication company, other network subscribers could register for the service.

“We are a valued-added service provider and welcome any mobile operator to partner with us,” he said.
