Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that government has not been able to take certain key decisions since it came into office, because vital documents needed to pursue sensitive issues were taken away by officials under Kufuor's government.

Speaking on Joy FM's news analysis programme Newsfile hosted by Matilda Asante-Asiedu on Saturday, Mr Ablakwa cited, for instance, the Chief of Staff's office where all important documents were carted off from that office, without any to rely on.

“Yes I want to put that on record, in fact in the Chief of Staff's office there was not a single file left,” he placed on record.

The Deputy Information Minister has therefore asked NPP functionaries to stay put as he promised them of yet-to-be-opened can of worms, which he indicated would, certainly, not be in the interest of the NPP.

“Concerns that were raised about we(government) not having all the documentation, and why are you not talking to former leaders, and all of that, I just want to put on record that a lot of files were taken away.

“… In the coming days there would be a very interesting case which we should watch out for,” he taunted.

He, however, fell short of mentioning names of persons who served under the erstwhile administration who would be government's possible target.

The New Patriotic Member of Parliament for Okaikoi North, Nana Akomea, vehemently doubted the claims.

“That cannot be true,” he interjected Okuzeto's submission.

Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, and an avowed critic of the Mills-led administration, shot back at the deputy minister's assertions, saying they were empty threats.

“This is scaremongering,” he remarked.
