Accra, Feb. 21, GNA - A 46-year-old Opel Astra taxi driver was on Sunday found dead in his vehicle around the Madina Zongo Junction.

The Madina District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Joseph Owusu Bempah, said he received a report that a man has been lying dead in his taxi cab at the Akwapem Lorry Station near the Madina Zongo-Junction.

Superintendent Bempah said he quickly dispatched his men to the crime scene where they found blood oozing from his nose.

He said the deceased body has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra for an autopsy.

Superintendent Bempah said the Police found a sheet of paper with phone numbers in the taxi which helped them to contact one of his relatives known as Mr Stephen Kodjo who went to the morgue to confirm and identify the corpse.

The name of the driver was given as Joe Tetteh who drives between Koforidua and Accra and hails from Somanya in the Eastern Region.

He said investigations are underway to find the cause of death and appealed to the general public to provide information to help the Madina Police hasten its investigations
