David Cameron hosts international conference on Somalia

LONDON, United-Kingdom, February 21, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- Amnesty International's Somalia researcher Benedicte Goderiaux is available for interview by phone, ISDN or in London studios.

On Thursday 23 February Prime Minister David Cameron will host a high-level conference in London to discuss the future of Somalia.

The conference will be attended by representatives from more than 50 governments and international organisations, including US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. Attendees will discuss issues of piracy, terrorism, conflict, poverty and famine.

Amnesty International has produced a new briefing outlining the serious human rights abuses affecting Somalia, and is calling on the delegates at the conference to focus on human rights and protection of civilians in the east African country.
