PRESS RELEASE (CUC WITHDRAWAL)

10.02.2012 LISTEN
By PUSAG

The Private University Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG) by this statement, deeply sympathize with students who were this week unfortunately affected by the withdrawal from Central University College as published in the 9th February, 2012 edition of the Daily Graphic newspaper. The university's action was as a result of the new minimum requirement criteria for admission into tertiary institution as directed by the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE).

We by this release seek to advise authorities of private universities especially, and for that matter, all tertiary institutions to adhere strictly to these new directives from the NCTE carried out by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) till further notice.

We also entreat students to do well to meet the new requirements of not less than aggregate C6 and D for WASSCE and the SSSCE respectively to avoid any future embarrassment.

PUSAG would continue to fight hard for the welfare of private university students.
