The National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifa Karbo has tasked supporters and youth of the party to be resilient and confront people who will use undemocratic means to win the 2012 general elections.

He described the Mills/Mahama administration as highly incompetent and corrupt and encouraged the youth to be steadfast in their campaign against acts of intimidation.

Mr. Karbo was addressing regional and constituency youth organizers of the NPP drawn from the three northern regions in Tamale as part of a three-day workshop on campaign strategies to sharpen their skills towards election 2012.

He explained that the purpose of the new Patriotic Youth Wing is to advocate radical policy shifts before and after the elections in 2012 for the Ghanaian youth who have been neglected in their country.

On the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), the NPP National Youth Organizer accused the NDC of not bridging the gap between the south and north.

He noted that the GHC51million doled out to the self-styled NDC financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome for no work done could have been paid into the SADA account to implement programmes to benefit the people of the north.

Mr. Karbo accused the Vice President John Dramani Mahama of doing nothing to lessen the plight of people in the region, noting that he downplayed the Northern Development Fund concept by Nana Akufo Addo Dankwa in 2008 by providing a seed capital of $1billion.

He described the action of John Mahama to use the money to settle the debt of the Volta River Authority (VRA) as unfortunate.

He noted that the NDC spent three years sleeping on the job, leading to a dangerous surge and institutionalization of prostitution, internet fraud and armed robbery.

He challenged the NDC administration to pinpoint at least one policy initiative that has created job opportunities for the teeming youth of the country, stressing that the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), the brain-child of the NPP has become the only hope of the NDC government.

The National Youth Organizer said the NDC was collapsing the NYEP by offering opportunities to their foot-soldiers.

The Northern Regional Youth Organizer, Alhaji Rashid, in his welcome address, called on supporters of the party to remain focus and united to fashion out campaign messages that will win more support for the party.

Commenting on the biometric registration, Alhaji Rashid urged his colleagues to appeal to the grassroots supporters to register in a peaceful manner.
