A mass registration exercise is expected to begin next month in the Brong Ahafo Region after government released GH¢2.5 to the National Identification Authority.

The Deputy Director of Public Affairs of NIA, Bertha Dzeble tells Joy News: “This means that we can now continue with our field operations. Specifically, we will be doing the mass registration in the Brong Ahafo region.”

She said the money would enable them also pay workers whose salaries are in arrears to enable them carry out their activities.

She was hopeful the Authority would resume the distribution of cards to nationals.

She said: “We will be doing limited registrations in the Northern region, Upper East and Upper West.”
