FOUR PERSONS including a nursing mother and her child are dead following a gory accident which occurred at Offinso in the Ashanti region.
The accident which occurred around 11:30pm on Saturday also claimed the lives of a driver and a spare driver of a Yutong bus.
About 31 people also got severely injured and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when the Yutong bus, registered GW 256-10, crashed into a Neoplan bus with registration number GR 4267-D.
Both vehicles were heading towards Kumasi when the Yutong bus crashed into the back of the Neoplan bus, which was ahead of it.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the impact of the crash was so severe that it caused so much noise in the usually peaceful area.
The impact woke up residents as they rushed to the scene to offer help to the injured.
They said two out of the 31 injured persons who were rushed to the Saint Patrick's Hospital at Offinso were later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi following the severity of their injuries.
