Keep-Fit Clubs mark Republic Day

Amasaman (G/A) July 8 GNA - Mr. Samuel Nii Aryetey Attoh, Ga District Chief Executive at the weekend called on the people of Amasaman to form more Keep-fit Clubs and to encourage senior citizens in the area to do light regular body exercises.

Mr. Attoh was addressing over 600 youths drawn from eight keep fit clubs in the district as part of the Republic Day Celebration at Amasaman.

He said the aged should give valuable pieces of advice to the younger generation to enable them to live longer. The Keep-fit Clubs undertook games including tug-of-war, walking and football games in the exercise which involved eight Keep-fit Clubs, from Amasaman, Pokuase, Dome, North Lagon, St. John Taifah, Kwahuman and Atomic.

Pokuase Keep-fit Club won a gala tug of war competition organised to mark the Republic Day Celebration. The event was funded by Mr. Jones Amartey Director of Peri Construction.

Mr. Emmanuel Badu Darko Assemblyman for Amasaman Electoral Area who chaired the function congratulated the clubs for their massive turn out.
