Winneba, Jan 4, GNA – A founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Mintah, has appealed toGhanaians to make the 2012 a year of progress and prosperity.

He said to be able to do that they must work hard and eschew laziness, malingering and all tendencies which retarded progress.

In a New Year message, Mr Mintah advised politicians to avoid insults, mudslinging and utterances that could flame passions and urged them to ensure that the peace the nation was enjoying was not sacrificed on the altar of political expediency.

Mr Mintah urged Ghanaians who had attained the age of 18 years and above to register when voters' registration exercise begins and cautioned against involvement in double registration which could land them in jail.

Nation building, he said, was a shed responsibility which all nationals had a role to play and added that no one must sit on the fence and engage in criticism.
