The Sekondi Stadium suffered a five-minute blackout during recess of the derby between Medeama and Wassaman on Sunday but the former still prevailed on the night, winning 2-1.

Medeama will head into the festive break with a leap up to eighth on the standings.

Jumping into the lead courtesy a 15th minute goal by Nana Yaw Afriyie, the evening witnessed its first trouble with the dismissal of Emmanuel Dogbe after 36 minutes for a second bookable offence.

Then in recess, the power at the stadium went off, delaying the restart of the game.

But the delay did not seem to have affected either side when they got the game underway in the second half as it it Medeama 12 minutes to double their lead.

Augustine Sefa scored the second for the home side before Abubukar Mumuni pulled one back three minutes from time.
