KMA eases transportation for X'mas

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has secured 17   Metro Mass Transit buses for operation within the Kumasi   metropolis to reduce travelling difficulties by residents during    the Christmas.

It is part of arrangement to enable residents enjoy the yuletide in a well-enhanced environment.

The Mayor of Kumasi, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, who disclosed this at a press soiree on Friday, said a comprehensive programme had been designed to ensure that hawkers and traders do not trade on pavements in the business district.

He assured residents of an enjoyable X'mas in peace, since the Metropolitan Security Committee (METSEC) had done everything possible to ensure that criminal activities around this time are nipped in the bud.

Mr. Sarpong warned criminals to revise their notes, because the city authorities would not give them room to operate.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss gave the assurance that the Assembly was committed to its vision of developing Kumasi into a safe and vibrant city, by improving city management through good governance, local economic development, tourism promotion, improved sanitation, proper environmental and social services, and sound infrastructure development.

Mr. Sarpong wished the President, Prof. John Atta Mills, the Ashanti King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and residents of Kumasi well in the ensuing years.
