Kumasi, June 30, GNA - The police has mounted an intensive search to arrest one Kwasi Okra, now on the run, for the alleged murder of a 20-year-old woman, Gifty Botwe at Akwatia-Line in Kumasi.
Okra is alleged to have stabbed the woman with a sharp instrument leading to her instant death.
Mr Gideon Boateng of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Directorate, told the Ghana News Agency that on June 24, at about 2100 hours, the deceased visited the husband, Godwin Gyebi at Akwatia-Line where a misunderstanding ensued between her and the suspect who is a friend to the husband.
He said during the confusion, Botwe was alleged to have inflicted blade wounds on the face of the suspect who in retaliation stabbed her. The body had since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary.
