My inspiring bible verses

Feature Article My inspiring bible verses
DEC 9, 2011 LISTEN

I have uncountable inspiring bible verses that help and have been helping me for many years. However, there are some that I use every day. These are Matthew 7 verses 7; Joshua 1 verses 6; Genesis 1 verses 26 and John 10 verses 35; Jeremiah 29 verses 11; and Proverbs 18 verses 14.

Matthew 7 verse 7 says; “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” The truth is, without faith, it will be difficult to persist and persevere. At the same time without courage, it will be easy to give up. This verse, though it does not talk about these, what it teaches encapsulates these and more.

This verse teaches me about the power of persevering in all things good that I do. It encourages me not to give up no matter how the circumstances may be. It encourages me to ask life for what I want by acting. One thing I have learnt from reading this verse is that, the future will always open its door to those who are courageous and are not willing to give up. It helps me not to walk by sight, but rather to walk by faith. This is because faith was the key that God used in his creation. If it has not been the inspiration that I drew from this scripture, I would not have been here doing what am doing now.

Secondly, Joshua 1 verse 6, says; “Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.”

Joshua 1 verses 6 is the verse that encourages me to go in for my vision though there are hurdles on the way. After setting any goal, I do make sure to read it to inspire me to move on without any fear of falling or failure. In fact, what it does is, it helps me renew my mind, and makes me to pray to God who is the giver of all good. With this verse in mind every time, I knew that I am more than a conqueror, because the power to be rich and succeed comes from God who spoke these words.

Thirdly, here are what Genesis 1 verses 26 and John 10 verses 35 have to say; “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

“If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken.”

The above verses teaches me about the dominion gave to mankind. These verses inspire me to seek to become a great achiever because that in the will of God. The verses also teaches me that God created us in His image to be like gods, so human being should not serve any god than God alone. This is true, because out of the creation of God, it is only man that He gave the ability and the wisdom to create—to give birth to things that are not like him. For example, the animals can only give birth to their kind. However, man can give birth to ideas, wisdom, machines etc.

With this knowledge in me, I always seek to create and recreate, and whatever good I put my hand to do always does prosper, because He has given us the authority that what we bind here will be bound in heaven. Besides, these verses help me to see the earth as my father's territory and I do walk without any fear of fainting or failure in all.

Besides the above mentioned scriptures, another scripture that touches me a lot is Jeremiah 29 verses 11. Here is what it has to say; “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

This verse teaches me that The God of heaven loves me with special love and does care for me very well. With this I know that I have a purpose for being here on this planet. The book of Isaiah 46 verse 10 says that He declares the end from the beginning. Isaiah 55 verse 11 also says that His word that will go forth out of His mouth shall accomplish its purpose. Knowing these gives me strong confidence in life to face everyday positively. These verses are the keys to my promotion in life. With these in mind, I know that I will make it beautifully in life before I leave this planet one day.

Lastly, the book of Proverbs 18 verses 14 says; “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”

This verses is a verse that makes me to encourage myself in hard times. What I have learnt over and over is defeat is in the mind. If one is defeated mentally, it will be manifested physically. Knowing this, I always keep my spirit strong by encouraging myself in the Word of God during difficult times. Recently, when someone deceived me financially, it was this verse backed by others that kept me on strong; and today am on my feet.

The power of the scriptures cannot be under rated, so the bible is my best book and friend. To me, it is my manual of living.
