Accra, Dec. 2, GNA - The Board of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has been dissolved with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement issued in Accra on Thursday signed by the Minister of Energy, Mr Joe Oteng-Adjei.
The statement said: “The Ministry wishes to state that President John Evans Atta Mills has constituted a new Board of the Company to be chaired by Mrs Perpetual Darfour.
"This Board will be sworn-in on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
“The Ministry takes this opportunity to convey to the old Board the sincere gratitude of President Mills for their contribution toward building ECG into a world class electricity distribution Company.”
The statement did not give further details.
