Kpassa, Nov. 27, GNA-Mr John Oti Bless, a businessman, was at the weekend acclaimed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Nkwanta North Constituency.

Prior to the event, Mr Paul Levin Gyato, the Nkwanta North District Chief Executive, announced his withdrawal from the contest stating that acts that characterized the campaign period informed his decision to step down to avoid endangering the peace, unity and tranquility of the Party and the district at large.

He pledged his unalloyed support both financial and material towards annexing the seat being occupied by Mr Joseph KwekuNayan of the New Patriotic Party.

Mr Bless expressed appreciation for the action of Mr Gyato and promised to join forces with him to wrest political power from the incumbent.

He appealed to all aggrieved persons to return to the party's fold to strategize towards beating the NPP in next year's election.

Mr Kwasi Aboagye, Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, praised Mr Gyato for displaying maturity and sacrificing his personal ambition for the good of the party.

Mrs Dzifa Attivor, Deputy Minister of Transport, urged party stalwarts to remain steadfast, maintaining their electoral indomitability that christened them as the “World Bank.”

She said two crucial development projects, the University of Health and Allied Sciences and the eastern corridor road would see the light of day.

Mrs Attivor said the District would benefit from the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and appealed to the people to rally behind the Government for rapid development.

Alhaji Anas Anakwa Wenchi, Constituency Chairman, said the Party was poised for victory in the 2012 general elections.
