Accra, Nov 23, GNA - Ghana moved four places up in the latest monthly rankings released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).

The Black Stars moved from 33 to 29 on the globe ladder to emerge as the second best on the continent behind the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire.

Ghana amassed 761 points to chalk the progress after beating Gabon 2-1 in the recent international friendly after their abortive date with Sierra Leone earlier in the month.

Algeria moved a point within Ghana's position to place third in Africa while African Champions, Egypt dropped to fourth on the continent's rating.

The Black Stars and the Elephants are rated as favorites for next year's African Cup of Nations billed for Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Here is the list of Africa's top ten teams.
1. Cote d'Ivoire (16) – 912 points, 2. Ghana (29) – 761 points, 3. Algeria (30) – 758 points, 4. Egypt (31) – 757 points, 5. Nigeria (43) – 627 points, 6. Senegal (44) – 625 points, 7. Cameroon (48) – 602 points, 8. South Africa (53) – 577 points, 9. Cape Verde Islands (57) – 544 points and 10. Tunisia (59) – 537 points.
