The Okyehene's accuser Nana Adjei Boateng and the Asona Royal Family have been summoned to appear at the Okyehene Osaagyefo Amoatia Ofori Payin's palace on Friday, to substantiate their allegation that the Okyenhene is sponsoring illegal mining activity.

The Akim Traditional Council has denied claims linking the Okyehene to illegal gold mining operations, noting, the mining activity cited by the Okyehene's accusers is actually being conducted by an entity that has met all the legal requirements.

The Okyehene's supporters are reported to have clashed with members of the Asona Royal family on Tuesday after guards allegedly opened fire and attacked bus-loads of members of the Asona family who trooped to the palace to swear to a deity to back their claims.

Spokesperson of the Okyehene, Lawyer Kwame Boateng told Joy News that he suspects some faceless people are behind the plot to tarnish the image and reputation of the Okyehene.

He therefore hopes the meeting on Friday with the Asona royal family and the gates will help unmask the faces behind the plot.

“They are people with cynical agenda who really want to tarnish the image of Okyehene and that is all; because there is no substance whatsoever in any of the allegations being made. These are cowards who don't want to show their face.”

But the accuser Odehye Nana Agyei Boateng says he is ready to face the Okyeman on Friday.

He also insisted on the need for him and the Okyenhene to swear before a deity
