26 NYEP beneficiaries receive sewing machines

Twenty-six beneficiaries, made up of 24 females and 2 males, under the Youth in Vocation and Trade of the National Youth   Employment Programme (NYEP), have received sewing machine, after a successfully undergoing six months training in dressmaking.

Presenting the machines, the District Coordinator of the NYEP, Mr. Mel A. Ahiahornu, disclosed that the occasion was to assist the youth to set up businesses, leading to job creation.

Advising the beneficiaries during the short but impressive ceremony, Mr. Ahiahornu charged them to reciprocate the confidence reposed in them by the management of NYEP, through hard work, in order to improve on their living conditions.

He urged them to know that their destinies could not be guaranteed by anybody, rather they decide what and how their destinies should be.

That notwithstanding, another 68 females have been selected to undergo similar training in the next few days.
