Following the  intervention of a   delegation sent by the Queenmother of Juaben in the Ashanti Region, Nana Akosua Akyiamah III, an amicable settlement has been reached in the almost two year impasse between the New Juaben Traditional Council and the Queenmother, Nana Yaa Daani II.

As part of the peace process, Nana Yaa Daani has promised to fully co-operate with the Traditional Council in all its endeavours.

She also assured Nananom of her readiness to fully participate in all the activities of the Traditional Council, while pledging to work very closely with the Omanhene to ensure the steady progress of the area, stressing that the past was buried forever.

The delegation from Asante Juaben expressed satisfaction at the cordial atmosphere that prevailed at the settlement, and charged Nana Yaa Daani to live up to her words and co-operate with the Traditional Council and the Omanhene to ensure peace and progress in the area.

The delegation further reminded the Queenmother of her role in the traditional area, and therefore, urged her to perform that role, as demanded by custom and tradition.

Before returning to the Ashanti Region, the delegation, on behalf of the Queenmother, Nana Akosua Akyiamah III, thanked the New Juaben Traditional Council and the Omanhene for accepting the apology they rendered on behalf of Nana Yaa Daani II.

In a related development, the New Juaben Traditional Council has placed a ban on the first anniversary funeral celebration of the dead.

According to Traditional Council, it would only allow the pouring of libation and prayers, as well as visit to the cemetery in remembrance of the dead, on the occasion of the first anniversary.

These measures, according to the Traditional Council, are meant to cut down the escalating costs associated with the celebration of the first anniversary, which is becoming unbearable.

A group calling itself 'Concerned citizens for progress in New Juaben,' had earlier complained about some self-seeking individuals in the New Juaben Traditional Area, whose actions they say, are unpatriotic, and had the tendency of destabilising the peace in the area.

They, however, called for unity and the development of the area.
