The Executive Director of Partners in Community Development Programme (PACODEP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in the areas of rescuing trafficked children on the Volta Lake, Mr. George Achibrah, has been honoured by the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, for his hard work.

In a citation read in his honour by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the EP Church, the Rt. Rev. Francis Amenu said the church had been following closely the activities of PACODEP in helping to save lives of children engaged in hard work in fishing communities along the Volta Lake, and was satisfied with the activities of the Executive Director.

The EP Moderator stressed that the Executive Director of PACODEP, who is a teacher by profession and a member of the Church, would continue to enjoy the full support of the Church in his activities, because the work being done by Mr. Achibrah formed an integral part of Christian work, which was to save lives, as well as improve on activities of humanity, particularly, issues that concerned development of children.

On his part, Mr. George Achibrah thanked the church for the honour done him, saying that it served as motivation for him to work harder, and also commended his professional association, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in the Volta Region and at the national level, for the moral support he continued to enjoy from them.

Mr. Achibrah said he shared the honour done him with his wife and children, as well as other development partners like Geneva Global, which continued to assist him in rescuing a number of children working on the Volta Lake.

He vowed that he would, as much as possible, try to ensure that children of school-going age on the lake went back to the classrooms.
