THE GREATER GLORY
The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house, Say's the Lord Almighty.
And in this place i will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty___ Haggai 2:9 NTL.
First let us examine that greater glory that the prophet Haggai spoke about:
In 2 Cor. 3 : 7 - 11
The Glory Of The New Covenant
The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses, face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. 8 Shouldn't we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? 9 If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God!
10 In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way, 11 So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever.
The Apostle Poul called into remembrance the stone tablets on which God had written the old covenant - calling it " the old way". The law, although leading to death, was glorious because it was God's provision and proof of his intervention in the life of his people. But that which was summarized on stone is nowhere near as glorious as what came with" the new" New life in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the power behind the rebirth of every Christian, and the one who helps us live the Christian life.
In the Old Testament, the glory of God was manifested only in certain places at certain times, and through other channels. The glory of God was manifested generally upon the prophets, priests, or Kings.
In First Corinthians 3 : 16, every born-again child of God is the temple of the Holy Spirit In 1 Cor. 3 : 16 ( Amplified )
Do you not discern and understand that you ( the whole church at Corinth) are God's temple ( His sanctuary), and that God's Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you ( to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually)? This special verse indicates that individual Christians - members of the Body of Christ - are God's temple.
The Apostle Poul, writing to the people in the Church at Corinth told them, " You are God's temple". We are also God's temple.
You, who are sitting and listening, and are born by the spirit of God, you are God's temple.
If you are God's temple, then God's is calling you to give thought to your ways.
In Haggai 1:6 the word of God says:
You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.
Many citizens in God's Kingdom in this end-time dispensation are planting in finances but are not reaping much.
They don't see the result of their labour. They are in lack. God is telling them to "Give careful thought to your ways" It is not too late to examine your ways, and build up the spiritual house of God by putting spiritual things first.
Let us have a right attitude to do God's work.
Sometimes God blesses some people in spirit of their actions, either because they are ignorant about what they are doing, or they having wrong motives, but in all this God gives them something to repent.
Receiving should not be our only motive when we are giving to build God's house, or giving to build God's house, or giving to ministries, or blessing God's people .
God is telling all Christians today to take care of His House, and He will take care of ours.
Through the prophet Haggai God was telling His people, the Israelites that they needed to change their focus from themselves, and what they thought was more important to them, and about God's Kingdom first.
" You take care of my house, and i will take care of yours". Manipulations, and vicious lies to destroy even our leaders are some of the things we must avoid, and the spirit of rebellion, and disrespect.
We need to maintain a greater hunger for a move of God's Spirit on the earth.
Let all Christians base our desire for the things of God first, and the greater glory will be manifested in the corporate church, and also in our lives individually.
The Greater Glory: Gal. 6:7
How much have you sowed into God's Kingdom?
How much have you sowed into the Apostle of God's life?
How much have you sowed into your Pastor's life?
How much have you sowed into the local church?
How much have you sowed into the ministry?
How much have you sowed into the Radio ministry - one way of fulfilling Jesus' Command to go and preach the gospel.
How much have you sowed into Rabbi Radio, Adom, Peace, etc ministries of fulfilling Christ's commandment - these are media ministries propagating the gospel to all nations.
How much have you sowed into the lives of true apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers who are helping to propagate the gospel in fulfilling the Great Commission to all nations?
Apart from your prayer support, and listening to equip yourself, and others you have to sow financially into the life and ministry of true, and honest men and women of God who stand boldly to declare the truth of God's gospel and who through them God sends his word to heal, and to open spiritual and physical doors for your salvation, deliverance, and protection.
Let the Greater Glory of God shine in the church, and in your family, and in your life as you position yourself to receive it. With the right attitude, love, unity, respect, humility, forgiving spirit, we can rise up to propagate the gospel to reach all the world, standing together as a corporate church under our chosen leader chosen by God to lead us. God bless you for reading.
