Sources close to ex-President Rawlings say that his aides are busily pouring over the records of early PNDC rule with the sole purpose of dragging President Kufuor to the National Reconciliation Commission (NRC).
The plan is to cite President Kufuor as a witness in one of the numerous cases in which Rawlings has been mentioned as a violator of human rights and insist that the NRC takes steps to get the President to give evidence.
It is believed that such a move would directly show the extent to which politicians from all the different traditions were involved in the affairs of the PNDC.
President Kufuor was the first PNDC Secretary for Local Government and attended Cabinet meetings in the days of fire and brimestone.
