OPEN LETTER: Severe injustice done to an unfortunate senior citizen of this country
22.06.2011 LISTEN

Dear Sir,
I am left with no alternative that to go public with this story. It is so, because I addressed a letter to you on this subject matter dated April 11, 2011,and delivered by hand to your personal secretary. Since delivery, however, I have not had any response from your office. I made follow-calls to your secretary but was once asked to come and check at your registry to enable me know where it has reached.

Sir, I found that to be an absurdity. For how could someone petition you from Bolga on an issue, and must travel from there to your registry to check issues.

To the substantive issue, I addressed a petition on behalf of an over 86 years old lady who was batted by her own son-in-law, and banished from her own home she toiled to build. The woman, Marna Alhassan, a native of Dorwenya in the Greater Accra Region, alleged her in-law beat her up mercilessly, sacked her from her own home and rented out the premises.

She duly reported the alleged culprit, Musah Waanah, to the Prampram police. Some elders attempted a settlement which yielded no results positively. It was in frustration at getting Justice, that I intervened and wrote a petition on her behalf dated December 13, 2010, which archived nothing, thereby warranting my petition to you under reference.

From the above, sir, you would agree with me that the matter needs to be properly investigated, and if a case of blame is established against the alleged culprit, JUSTICE must be ACTIVE thereon. Attached, are pictures of the victim and the alleged suspect.

THE POOR MUST SEE, TASTE AND ALSO EXPERIENCE JUSTICE. Thank you.

Yours sincerely
sgd
