Apawawase (E/R), June 15, GNA – The people of Apawawase near Asuboi in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District, have appealed to the District Assembly to reshape the bad portions of the feeder roads in the area to avert motor accidents.
Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency at Apawawase on Tuesday, Mr Francis Kofi Tenge, an opinion leader and Nana Antweri Amponsah Odikro of Apawawase, described the Apa Awisem-Apawawase-Asuboi stretch as dangerous and a death-trap.
Mr Tenge said travelling on the road, especially at night, was horrifying, because of its undulating and rocky nature.
He noted that the Asuboi Zongo-Otumfo and the Otumfo-Wontumi stretches of the road were also weedy and narrow.
Nana Antweri said during the rainy season, the road “becomes slippery for motorists to travel on, while during the dry season, it becomes very dusty.”
He said most drivers have stopped plying the route leading to post-harvest losses.
Nana Antweri noted that if nothing was done to arrest the situation the Apawawase-Asuboi would be cut off from the rest of Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District.
