Sunyani, (B/A) June 9, GNA – Thirty-eight Second-cycle Schools in the Brong-Ahafo Region are to participate in this year's three-day Regional Super- zonal athletics competition scheduled for Kintampo from June 15 this year.
Mr Isaac Nsiah Edwards, Brong-Ahafo Regional Schools Sports Organiser of the Ghana Education Service (GES) disclosed to GNA Sports in Sunyani on Thursday.
He said the Kintampo Festival would enable the Region to select a formidable team to represent it in the forthcoming National Schools Athletics competition to be held in Tamale between August and September, this year.
The athletes for the Kintampo fiesta would be the three top contestants who represented their various schools in the recent zonal athletic competition organised in the eight zones of the Regional Schools Sports Federation.
Mr Edwards said the Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) will defend the boys' championship trophy won last year while Kintampo Senior High School are also expected to fight all out to retain the girls trophy.
