USA Is Falling
The empire, the United States of America is hobbling on its way to total collapse and the prediction is that the centre will not be able to hold for a long time.
The collapse could come much faster by and Engels as the war–happy empire unleashes more havoc in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
Since the capitalist system started its nose-dive in what has been deceptively called the global economic down turn, six million US citizens have lost their jobs.
A total of 25 million Americans are underemployed and many will never work again.
According to Robert Freeman, a respected writer on American affairs “Eight Trillion dollars of middle class wealth has been destroyed in the housing collapse”
He writes “One out of four mortgage holders are under water, owing more on their home than it is worth”.
The statistics are mind boggling and can only point to the inevitable and complete collapse of the United States of America seen by many as the leader of the capitalist world.
At the moment, 50 million Americans have crossed the line into poverty and out of every eight Americans one survives on food stamps.
One out of every two American children will be on food stamps at some point in their lives.
It is important to observe that the statistics get worse with each passing year.
The situation is causing substantial social unrest amongst the disadvantaged especially amongst the racially discriminated such as the Blacks, Chicanos, Latinos and Indians.
The trade unions are also becoming increasingly militant and they are demonstrating what they can do in Wisconsin where mass protests have continued for more than two weeks.
The inequality in US society is phenomenal.
Between 2000 and 2006, two thirds of all the growth in the entire economy went to only the top one per cent.
The crash is coming and everybody has to fasten their seat belts.
