Bolgatanga, March 18, GNA - A 52-year-old legal practitioner, Mr Rudolf Amenga-Etego, has declared his intention to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary for the Chiana-Paga constituency.
"I will outdoor my campaign strategy as soon as my party makes the call for nominations", He told the GNA in an interview.
The NDC lost the Chiana-Paga Constituency seat to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2008 election.
He said the party lost lost the seat because of the divided front of the NDC in the constituency.
"The NDC went into the 2008 elections in my constituency as a divided front and that caused our party's downfall. We could have captured the seat easily if we were united", he stated.
Mr Amenga-Etego said what was needed was reconciliation and that consultations were ongoing among his supporters and the party's executive in the constituency on how best to "put our house back in order if we want to take back the seat from the NPP."
He appealed to the regional and national executives of the party to redouble their efforts at addressing the problem in the constituency or else it would affect the party's chances of winning back the seat.
