Central Region Queenmothers Association gets office

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, on the eve of Christmas day presented an office to the Central Region Queenmothers Association.

The two room office, with a large hall for meetings, is located in the Cape Coast Jubilee Park.

At a short ceremony to present the keys to the office, Mrs. Doe urged the queenmothers to protect the cultural heritage of Ghanaian women.

She asked them, as custodians of culture, to try hard to imbibe the customs into the youth, adding that the youth were now emulating foreign cultures which are detrimental to the development of the nation.

The President of the Association, Nana Ama Amissah III, Queenmother of Mankessim, thanked the Minister for the gesture, and promised that the association would engage resource persons to educate the queenmothers on their responsibilities in these modern days, to enable them play their part in the development of Ghana.
