January 05, 2011 Ho, Jan. 5, GNA - Captain George Nfodjo, Member of Parliament for Ho Central, on Wednesday presented 10 layer cages to 10 communities in the Constituency to support their income generation activities.

Each of the cages, which cost 7,500 Ghana cedis, has the capacity to hold 90 birds and were presented to farmers in Tanyigbe Dzafe, Sokode-Bagble, Ziavi-Dzogbe, Hofedo and the Some SDA area in Ho.

Other beneficiary communities were Hoe, Sokode-Lokoe, Shia, Agbokofe and Tokokoe.

Captain Nfodjo said the cages were imported from Israel to help the communities generate income and become economically self reliant in financing self-help projects.

He said he had already given corn-mills, Wellington boots and cocoa seedlings to some other communities with the assurance that more of such interventions would soon reach many other communities in the constituency.

"You who have yours now must use them well to make a case for the rest," he said.

Captain Nfodjo said his plan was to empower all communities in the constituency economically so they could finance some minor development projects on their own while government tackled the major ones.

Mr Joseph Kwami Dogbatse, a poultry farmer, on behalf of the other recipient communities, commended Captain Nfodjo for the support and gave the assurance that the cages would be put to good use.

Captain Nfodjo also inspected work on a four-unit classroom block he initiated at Sokode-Etoe on which some volunteers from the University of Idaho in the United States of America were working.
