Justice Minister ask parents to invest in education

Apagya (Ash), Dec. 18, GNA - Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu, Minister of Justice and Attorney General has called on parents to consider their children as assets and work hard to ensure their welfare and development.

She said there was the need for them to enrol them in school, especially the girls and ensure that they remained and learn hard to attain higher levels of education.

She made the call at the inauguration of an eight-unit teachers quarters at Apagya in the Afigya Kwabre at the weekend.

The project was initiated by the community and completed by the District Assembly with part of its District Development Fund.

Mrs Iddrisu expressed joy that the people had realised the importance of education and were working hard to promote it.

She advised them to continue to live together as one people with a common destiny, adding that any misunderstanding among them would bring down development.

Mr Kwaku Oppong Kyekyeku Kaakyire, District Chief Executive appealed to the people to continue with their communal spirit to attract more support from the Government.

He urged chiefs in the district to ensure proper planning and zoning of their areas.

Mr Ignitius Wimbe Ere, District Director of Education expressed the hope that the facility would promote effective teaching and learning.

She said the provision of the quarters was a healthy sign of community participation, which enhance development.

Nana Owusu Bempah, Apagyahene praised to the District Assembly for supporting the people to bring their vision into reality.
