The powerful political machine, Real Choice for Change Campaign Organisation, dedicated to the actualisation of the quest by Hon. Dakuku Adol Peterside to become the next House of Representatives member for Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency come 2011, received a major boost last Wednesday when the group inaugurated a 44-man contact and mobilization teams across the two Local Governments Areas of Andoni and Opobo/Nkoro that make up the constituency.

The events which took place, first at Opobo Town, headquarters of the Opobo/Nkoro LGA and later at Ngo Town, headquarters of the Andoni LGA, had 2 members each of the 44 wards split equally between the two local government areas, sworn in by the Real Choice for Change Campaign Organisation led by Hon. Sampson Egop, the group's Coordinator-General and other members.

Inaugurating the team in Opobo Town, Hon, Egop charged the members to work hard and disseminate to the people accurate and factual information concerning the person of Hon. Dakuku Peterside who he described as a good commodity that requires little or no efforts in selling.

“You will all agree with me that Hon. Dakuku Peterside is a good product and I believe that you will not find any difficulty promoting his candidacy to the people of Opobo/Nkoro LGA,” Egop stated.

Speaking further, Egop charged: “When they start their propaganda by saying that Hon. Dakuku Peterside has stepped down or has been sacked, please tell the people that it is a lie.”

Responding after the inauguration on behalf of the members, Hon. Paul Ben-Cookey, expressed the readiness of all the members to work extra hard to ensure the success of Hon. Dakuku Peterside both at the primaries and in the general elections of 2011.

“I would like, on behalf of all of us in the contact and mobilisation teams, to assure you that we will do all that is necessary to bring victory to Hon Dakuku Peterside. We will seriously make sure that he records an unprecedented landslide victory in the anals of this constituency.”

At Ngo Town, Mr Egop called on the members of the contact and mobilisation teams to work assiduously to ensure the success of Hon. Peterside both at the primaries and at the polls.

“Please be proud to tell your friends, your family people and everybody you interact with that Dakuku is your candidate because he is a candidate you should be proud of considering his person and achievements,” Egop stated.

Responding, Prince Kagon Morrison Utong, who spoke on behalf of the rest of the members, assured the campaign organisation that they would all work to ensure victory for Hon. Peterside.

“The advantage Hon. Dakuku has over anyone else in this election is that he is a friend to all. Here in Andoni, Dakuku's friends are spread out in all the so-called factions. He is truly a man of the people. Irrespective of those who may claim that they brought him out or whatever, everyone agrees that Dakuku is the man. I'm sure no other aspirant or candidate can boast of that,” Utong opined.

The brief but impressive events at Opobo Town and Ngo Town witnessed the issuance of campaign materials such as posters, T-shirts, caps and other items to members of the ward contact and mobilisation teams.

In a related development, the Coordinator-General of the Real Choice for Change Campaign Organisation, Hon. Sampson Egop, has assured that pointers indicate that Hon. Dakuku Peterside would enjoy a smooth ride to the House of Representatives.

Hon. Egop made his opinion known while speaking with journalists over the weekend in Port Harcourt.

According to Egop: “We are sure Dakuku Peterside will win both the primaries and the election. Why we are doing what we are doing now is to ensure that Dakuku Peterside wins the hearts and minds of the people of Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency who have far removed from their representatives in the past. So far, we are satisfied by the enthusiasm and outpouring of genuine goodwill by all and sundry in the constituency in support of Dakuku Peterside.”

Hon. Egop implored all supporters of the aspirant to leave no stone unturned to ensure victory for Hon. Peterside at the primaries and general election.
