Freight Forwarders donate to St. Joseph Hospital

November 26, 2010 Koforidua, Nov. 26, GNA - The Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF) has donated 1,000 bags of cement and 5,000 cement blocks to the St. Joseph Hospital at Koforidua.

The donation, which formed part of the activities marking the 14th Annual General Meeting of the Institute, was to assist the hospital to complete the 4-storey staff flats that had come to a standstill due lack of funds.

Making the donation on Thursday the National President of GIFF, Mr Carlos Kinsley Ahenkorah, said the institute noticed the accommodation problem and the other challenges facing the hospital during a visit recently.

He said considering services the hospital was rendering to Ghanaians and citizens of other West African countries the institute would continue to support it in diverse ways.

The Administrator of the Hospital, the Rev. Stephen Obku who received the donation, thanked GIFF and said it would help the hospital to complete the building to enable doctors, nurses and other staffs occupy it.

He said the 50-year-old hospital was facing many challenges and appealed to associations, non-governmental organizations and institutions to assist the hospital.
