Our President is a gift from God - Ofosu Ampofo

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has urged Christians to thank their stars that God chose two of them (Prof J.E.A. Mills and J.D. Mahama) in 2008 to lead the nation.

He said he did not know what would have happened to the people of Ghana if God had not chosen Prof Mills and also permitted NDC to come to power.

He said at a time Prof Mills was calling on men of God to help him pray for the nation, people were saying that he had turned the Castle into a prayer camp.

"Let us be grateful to God for selecting two his sons to lead this nation to the path of righteousness and prosperity," he said.

In view of this, he said Christians should also have patience, criticise constructively and devote much of their time to pray for God's interventions of the development of the nation because any leadership without challenges is not from God.

He said Rome was not built in a day neither did it take Moses one day to take the people of God into the promise land, but hard work and commitment to duty would bring the 'Better Ghana' agenda to pass.

The minister said this at the climax of the fifth anniversary celebration of the Kukurantumi District of the Pentecost Church on Sunday.

The one week programme was under the theme, 'Occupy till I come' and was aimed at raising funds to complete the over 500 capacity church building and the district pastor's resident.

He said one of the objectives of the celebration of the anniversary was to raise funds to complete the church building and a mission house for the pastor in charge and just as it had taken them time to reach where they are now, so it is in the development of the nation.

He said that in the midst of many challenges, the NDC government had made significant and impressive strides in the various areas of governance and if the church would also add a little fasting and prayers, then the nation would grow for the people to eat the food of the land.

Mr Ampofo enumerated a number of programmes and projects put in place by the government in the areas of education, health, agriculture, security in the country and said the rate of inflation had reduced steadily from 13.7% to 9.44% as at now.

He urged them to rejoice as the nation is blessed with a man of God to lead the people in the execution of the 'Better Ghana' agenda but reminded them to be guided by the fact that "if he succeeds, Christians have succeeded".

Preaching the sermon, the Koforidua Apostle of the church, Apostle S.K. Ofosu, quoted from the bible and said, God had endowed every human being with abilities and talents to execute specific duties on earth, that was why He has warned everybody to prepare for a day of accountability.

"God will judge anybody who will fail to utilise his or her talents," he said.

He appealed to them to rededicate their lives to God as they celebrate the anniversary and start the work of God and also do something to earn a living because the time of manna from heaven was past.

He said very soon Jesus Christ would come and there would not be any chance for them to do God's work or to work for a living and that time is now.

Apostle Ofosu also advised them to stay in one church to serve the Lord because there are witches and wizards in every part of the world adding that "the more you go out, the more you create more problems for yourself by inviting more of the witches into your life".

He also appealed to them to study the Bible themselves and always pray to God to intervene in their situation and they would surely succeed.
