Nkawkaw (E/R), Aug 31, GNA - A medical officer at the Kwahu Government Hospital, Dr Francis Addae, has urged the adult population to undertake regular exercise to reduce weight and other unwanted materials such as fats and cholesterol from the body to enhance their health.

He said regular exercise could release waste materials from the body and protect the body from being attacked by diseases such as high blood pressure and obesity.

Dr Addae was addressing members of the Executive Keep Fit Club at Nkawkaw after a football match between the club and the Nkawkaw Divisional Police at Nkawkaw Sports Stadium that ended one all.

He advised the public to avoid eating late in the night and exercise the body after taking their meals since digestion did not work properly when a person was asleep.

The founder and patron of the club, Assistant Commissioner of Police Fredrick Asare, the Nkawkaw Divisional Commander, said the objective of the club was to mobilize the people to undertake regular exercise to improve their health.

He said members of the club had been undertaking six- kilometre walk from Nkawkaw to Mpraeso at weekends and also playing football.
