Ashanti RCC To Stop Accommodating Govt Officials
The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has threatened to stop accommodating government functionaries on assignment to the region unless an amount of ¢200 million spent on such activities is paid. The council has been paying the hotel and feeding bills of officials to be reimbursed by the Finance Ministry. Regional Minister, S.K. Boafo says the ministry has still not paid up the ¢200 million so far accumulated and the region will be unable to cater for any official visiting the region. The Minister said all government officials visiting the region must go with their own food and money, because the council will not take up that responsibility.
