Accra, July 8, GNA - The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of Ghana Police Service in collaboration with Project Abroad Ghana, an NGO working in the field of human rights, on Thursday organised a quiz to test the knowledge of students on domestic violence.

The quiz held at Salvation Army School in Accra, had two students each from nine schools, made up of Mamprobi Sampe 3,5,6,8,10,12 and Salvation Army' A' 'B' and Owusu Mills Junior High School.

Chief Inspector Irene Oppong, Public Relations Officer of DOVVSU said the quiz was to review educational programmes on domestic violence organised for students.

Mr Tom Davis, Country Director of Project Abroad Ghana, said their collaboration was to educate the youth on domestic violence in the society.

He said the programme began from the grassroots to test the knowledge of the students and impact of education on domestic violence.

Mr Davis noted that issues on domestic violence had been a problem among the youth and the quiz would help them to be more cautious in society.

He urged the students to study hard to achieve their targets in future.

Master Evans Atisu, and Miss Yayra Atisu representing Sampe '6'emerged winners and were presented with three copies each of English Dictionary, combined English-French Dictionary and three story books.

They were followed by students of Sampe '10' who received two copies of English Dictionary and two story books. Salvation Army 'A' took the third position for which the students took away a copy each of English Dictionary and a story book, while the other participating schools were presented with stationery.
