Fraudulent British Education Consultancies in Nigeria

Dear Nigerians,

I wish to bring to your attention operations of certain British so-called educational consultancies operating in Nigeria.

Ostensibly they act as go-between prosppective Nigerian students looking for postgraduate opportunities in Britain and British universities, when these students are offered admission, they are required to make some form of payments in lieu of Visa applications, a sum is specified as non-refundable deposit but the larger deposits are always refundable in principle especially in the event of visa refusal which as you can imagine is the preponderant case.

However, when visa is refused these education outfits fraudulently refuse to remit the due balance to the Nigerians taking advantage of their distance and lack of appropriate instruments to hold them accountable. I have been inundated by duped students who have been victims of such organizations.

The latest is a certain London Academy for Higer Education run by a certain Larry Jones, suppossedly based in Stratford London, they acknowledge owing this Nigerian student and asked him to fill in a refund application and attach refusal letter from the British High Commission, all of this was done and they acknowledged and promised refund within 6-8 weeks but after that they have refused to enter into correspondence on the matter by mail or phone or in any form the money is still unpaid.

We are in the process of asking the Federal Ministry of Education blacklist organizations such as this from operating in Nigeria nad also preparing a formal complaint to the British High Commission.

If you or any one you know have a similar experience could you furnish me details so we could investigate to add them to the list to the Ministry of education for blacklisting.
