RE: Alan Kyerematen's Milk of Amnesia.

Who cares so much these days about what our learned Professor Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe writes? This is the response I received when I tried to draw the attention of a friend to the above article written by Professor Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe who we have hither-to held in very high esteem. The title for the write-up as well as the choice of words can only come from a hot oppressed brain. And it is feared that Professor Okoampa-Ahoofe may be suffering from some appraisal deficiency syndrome. It is also being suggested in other circles that Ahoofe can easily be compared to Professor Kofi Awoonor when it comes to issues about people who have something to do with their ethnic origins.

Is Ahoofe desperately playing some tribal game? Is Ahoofe playing games with the Ashanti – Akyem mirage? To Ahoofe Nana Addo should have been the flagbearer leading to his presidency even in 2000. And therefore President Kufour must be damned. To Ahoofe Nana Addo should have been declared unopposed in 2007, and therefore Alan who was his closest challenger must be damned. And President Kufour who was perceived by Ahoofe and his like to have supported Alan must be damned forever. And why in the world should Alan put himself again into the race to disturb Nana Addo? Ahoofe cannot take it lightly. He must therefore use disparaging and despicable words on Alan. But given his scholarship, it is very unbecoming and even silly for Ahoofe to behave that way.

The fact is that Professor Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe is gradually becoming a nuisance in the Elephant family. One may advice the professor to cool down and let the democratic process of the NPP to unfold. Okoampa-Ahoofe is again advised to treat all the competitors in the race for the flagbearership of the party with respect and decorum. Long live NPP! Long live Ghana!!
