
President John Evans Atta Mills has rolled up a roadmap to ensure the repatriation of Ghanaians who have fled the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo district of the Northern Region as a result of chieftaincy conflict that broke out on the 25th of this month .
After a Crucial meeting between President Mills, the National Security Coordinator Gbevlo Lartey, the National Security Adviser Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah and the Togolese Minister of National Security at the castle, it was agreed that the three thousand, five hundred of Ghanaians reported to have flee the area was exaggerated.
According to the officials one thousand is the exact number of people who are currently seeking refuge in Togo .
Briefing the media after the close door meeting, deputy minister of Information Samuel Okudzejato Ablakwa said the President has been responding to the situation and has even authorised a beefed up of security in the area.
Mr Ablakwa said President Mills has expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation by the Togolese government in finding temporary shelter for the Ghanaians who are seeking refuge in that country.
Mr Ablakwa said rehabilitation works are currently on ongoing in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo district for those whose houses were destroyed during the conflict to have the repatriated back to Ghana.
