RE: Apraku: I have no hand in printing of Alan Kyerematens resignation letter.

Apraku must be ashamed of himself. Indeed, he was one of the key individuals who mismanaged the campaign of Nana that contributed among other things to the defeat of the NPP in 2008. Instead of knowing better Apraku was heard screaming his head off on Asempa yesterday that Alan indeed resigned. These are the untruth manufacturers and perpetrators. I hope Apraku listened to the contribution of the former secretary of the party, Nana Ohene Ntow who spoke very intelligently on the same Asempa programme, disclosing in vivid clarity the letters and events after the marred and disappointing flagbearership elections at Legon in 2007. To the secretary who was on top of events at that time, Alan did not resign and that should be the conclusion of all who are fair and serious minded. If Apraku with all his scholarship and experience can insist that Alan did conclusively resign then it is very disappointing indeed.

Those who are behind that silly, myopic and mischievous campaign against Alan have even the guts to include copies of a reaction letter purported to have been written by the late Mr. da Rocha. In that instance, that letter was hasty and it was wrong. Mr. da Rocha who was one of my icons erred rather miserably. A good leader or father always seeks to address all issues and concerns of all his followers or children, with the profound interest of bringing all his children together no matter what, even wayward ones. Peace and unity are the cardinal building blocks for any strong family or party. And the NPP cannot be an exception! Therefore all those members of the great NPP family who are poised to wage an unholy war against their own siblings to pull them down, must bury their heads in shame. They are rather poised to bring the party crumbling down. And posterity cannot forgive those perpetrators.

It is incumbent on the campaign teams to wake up, especially the campaign team of Nana. All those evil agitators, no matter who they are and no matter what their standing, must be brought in line. Decency and fair play must be allowed to reign! For, there are days, weeks and years beyond August 7. One thing that the delegates to August 7 must realize is that the flagbearership is not a reward for longstanding, nor any particular activist role in the party. What is at stake is power in 2012. And who among the aspirants can win that power for the party and for Ghana must be the prime motivation of the vote of the delegates in August 7. Long live NPP! Long live Ghana!!
