KNUST Swears In Optometrists
Thirty-seven Optometrists who had six years training at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Cape Coast, have been jointly inducted at a ceremony at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The ceremony was organised by the Department of Optometry and Visual Science of the College of Science and the Ghana Optometric Association (GOA).
Thirty-two of the Optometrists were trained at the Department of Optometry and Visual Science of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) while five others were trained at the University of Cape Coast.
Justice Frank Amoah, Supervising High Court Judge in Kumasi, swore the new Optometrists into the profession.
Dr Afua Asantewaa of the KNUST and Dr Andrew Owusu-Ansah of the University of Cape Coast, won the Canada Optical Laboratory prize, whilst Dr Komla A. Monny Enyam, of the University of Cape Coast, received the Ghana Optometric Association best student award.
