Tarkwa, (W/R), April 12, GNA - A Tarkwa Circuit Court has rejected an application for an interim injunction against the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TNMA) for its attempts to eject a retired civil servant.

A statement of claim filed by Mr. Samuel Biney, a former Assistant Chief Technical Officer of the Town and Country Planning said he applied for a residential facility in 1975 from the Ghana Housing Corporation and was granted.

However, in 2006, he was transferred from the Tarkwa District to the Ahanta West District but failed to move his family from the residence, House number 18, at Tarkwa Low Cost.

He said in 2009 and early this year, the TNMA attempted to eject the plaintiff but he prayed the court to grant him an extended stay till December 2010 to enable him to move to a new place since it would be impossible for him to find an alternative accommodation in the Tarkwa Township.

The court presided over by Mr. Samuel Ebeng-Diawuo asked the applicant to serve notices to the TNMA to enable them to appear in court but rejected his application for interim injunction.
