The almost 700- seater splendid church located rigth behind the Modena train station was filled to its full capacity for the event with the audience creating an atmosphere of enough loud cheers that reverberated outside the enclosed main hall.
The 2 judges, Bretuoba Kwaku Agyemang and Tony Yayo, looking out for the future prospects under this Show - labelled, 'Mentor di Italy'- awarded marks for the artiste's voice, singing ability, stage performance and appearance. They were flattered by some of the performances and were given time to pass out comments.
Augustina Effah (not a contestant), a gospel artiste based in Modena, warmed the stage first with a couple of soul-inspiring songs from her albums. She got the audience off their seats to help in praise of God and dancing. . Making an appearance also were Alice Antwi, from Brescia who glittered the night performing her hit track, Menwu Da , and Regina Pokuaa, (from Verona) an exuberant gospel artiste making an impact with her gospel songs among the Ghanaian youths in Italy.
All 8 contestants namely, Abigail Osei Boaduwaa, Vivian Mensah,Vivian Yeboah,Mary Brago,Juliet Ainoo,Doris Pokuaa Mensah,Gifty Ofori Adjei and Salomey Badu made a brief appearance on stage before they came on to show what they had for the night. They all sang short accapella, and made different performances from their favourite artistes, remarkably done, you may mistake them for the real artistes of those songs. The judges had a tough time deciding but finally came out with Mary Brago(Modena), Gifty Ofori Adjei(Brescia) and Doris Pokuaa Mensah(Verona) as the top 3 out of the pack and they all received prizes for their efforts.
The night achieved its main objective of putting the aspiring artistes before an audience for the big time shows and some who have came to tap talents in this field will have something to work with as the event comes up in the coming years.
