Agona Nsaba (C/R), March 31, GNA - The acting Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area, Nana Kofi Agyekum II, has appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency improve facilities at Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School to meet the increasing student population.
The acting Omanhene said the school has no dining hall, kitchen and assembly hall, a situation he said was seriously disturbing effective teaching and learning.
Briefing newsmen at Nsaba, in the Agona East District of the Central Region, Nana Agyekum said his visit to the school recently revealed that only a few students could be admitted next academic year.
The acting Omanhene said the science laboratories were inadequately resourced and ill-equipped, and appealed to government, corporate bodies and financial institutions to come to the aid of the school.
He said the kitchen needed modern cooking devices, saying, it will save both students and kitchen staff from the smoke hazard that emanates from the use of firewood.
The acting Omanhene said the school's wooden truck donated by Valco Trust Fund in 1982, had broken down beyond repairs, while the Benz bus purchased by Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has also become too old to travel with beyond 40 kilometres.
He called for the reconstruction of an access road to the school and cautioned people who were encroaching on the school's land to stop the practice.
