Nyinahin (Ash), Feb 27, GNA - The Nyinahin Magistrate Court has ordered a 16-year old apprentice electrician accused of indecent assault to be held in police custody.
Kofi Mensah has denied the charge of defiling a nine-year old pupil.
The Court presided over Mr. Augustine Essah referred the case to a Juvenile Court.
Police Chief Inspector Napolean Isaac Asherow told the court that the father of the victim left her in the care of the accused and one Seth on January 14, and traveled outside Nyinahin, where they all live.
He said at about 1600 hours on January 16, Mensah lured the girl into his room and sexually abused her.
She told the father about her ordeal on his arrival and a complaint was made to the police.
A medical report signed by doctors who treated her confirmed she had been defiled.
