Students of APGSHS to report to school on February 19

February 15, 2010
Takoradi, Feb 15, GNA - Students of the Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School who went home when some of them complained of stomach pains and diarrhoea after eating groundnut soup and rice are to return to campus on February 19.

Madam Louisa Constance Aggrey, the Headmistress of the School, announced this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Sunday.

She was speaking after a meeting with the Western Regional Minister, Mr Paul Evans Aidoo, the Board of Governors of the School and Most Reverend Martin Darko, the Bishop of the Sekondi Diocese of the Catholic Church at the School near Sekondi.

She said only two students were on admission at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital as at Sunday afternoon, adding "those on admission have health problems that are not related to the incident at the school".

Madam Aggrey said the results of tests conducted on food and water taken in students are not ready.

It would be recalled that on February 10 about 100 students of the school were admitted at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Essikadu Hospital after eating rice and groundnut soup.
