Volta Region ready for Coca Cola U 17 football campaign

Ho, Jan. 26, GNA - The Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, Mr Francis Dogbatse has said the Region is ready to host the Coca Cola "Under 17" talent hunting football campaign scheduled for the regional capital, Ho.

He said the venues and participating Clubs are ready to make the three-day competition a great event.

Mr Dogbatse in a interaction with GNA Sports said he was optimistic that the event would discover great football talents in the Region and provide worthwhile entertainment for football fans.

The Regional Chairman called on the sponsors of the programme to finalize accommodation arrangements for the visiting teams of time to prevent any inconveniences.

Eight teams from the Region made up of Asogli FC, Dynamo FC, Fire FC and Selion Academy as well as Volta Young Eagles, West Cedars, Serious Babies and Future Babies will be competing for the trophy.

The winner of the three-day competition will join Anokye Stars and Corners Babies from the Ashanti Region and Ultimate Soccer Academy from the Eastern Region to vie for honours in the finals at the El-Wak Stadium from April 6 to May 9 to determine the best juvenile football team in the country.

The winning team would be sponsored to watch the forthcoming FIFA 2010 World Cup tourney in South Africa as well as receive other attractive prizes.
