Apam (C/R), Jan. 15, GNA - The Apam district magistrate's court has fined a farmer from Gomoa Ankamu 120.00 Ghana cedis for insulting policemen.

Kojo Arhin pleaded guilty and would go to prison for six months if he fails to pay the fine.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector William Kwasi Yeboah told the court that on January 10 Arhin insulted Sergeant Hope Kwesi Dogah and Sergeant Drid Bonsu at a police check point.

The prosecution said the accused ran away but the police lodged a complaint against him and was later arrested.

Arhin told the court that the insults were not meant for the policemen but rather to someone else he was quarrelling with in town before he reached the barrier.
